Do I need a consultation first?
Yes. A consultation is required for all new clients, even if you have had HBOT or EMS Chair Therapy in another clinic before. This is my time to understand your situation, explain exactly what to expect, answer your questions, and ask a few of my own so I can recommend the safest and most suitable starting plan. Getting real results is always my priority.
Can I book the consultation and a session on the same day?
Yes, of course. You can book your consultation and your session on the same day. If, for any reason, I decide after the consultation that it would not be suitable for you to go into the chamber, you will receive a refund for the session.
What is the minimum age to use HBOT?
There is no fixed minimum age. Suitability depends on the individual child, and we confirm this during the required consultation with the parent or legal guardian before any sessions are booked.
Is HBOT safe?
Yes, for most people HBOT is considered a safe, well-established therapy when proper screening is done and sessions are supervised. Your safety comes first, which is why every client completes screening and we always tailor the plan and pace to you.
Which HBOT sessions can I choose from?
You can choose between a Starter Session and a Standard Session. Both follow the same structure, we gently increase the pressure, you spend time at pressure, then we gently decrease the pressure. The pressurising and depressurising part takes around 15 minutes in total, and I can always adjust the pace to your comfort and how easily you can equalise your ears. The feeling is similar to being on a plane.
What is the difference between the Starter and the Standard session?
The Starter Session includes around 30 minutes at pressure, plus the compression and decompression time. I recommend it if you are completely new, you feel unsure, you want to try it first, or you are booking for a child and want to start shorter. It is also a good option if you prefer to build confidence before going longer. If we need to act quickly, for example after an injury, after surgery, or when pain and swelling are significant, the Standard Session is usually the better option.
The Standard Session includes around 60 minutes at pressure, plus the compression and decompression time. This is the option I usually recommend for focused support, because you get more time at pressure in one visit and the effect tends to build more consistently.
What happens during a session?
You relax inside the chamber while the pressure is gently increased. You breathe oxygen through a mask. The chamber has windows and it is bright inside, with light and calm music. I explain everything before we start, I stay with you throughout, and you can communicate with me at any time. You can see me through the window the whole time.
How do I prepare for my session?
Have a light meal, drink water, and try to arrive a few minutes early so you do not feel rushed. Please do not smoke or vape before your session and avoid coffee beforehand too. Wear comfortable clothing, empty your pockets, and please avoid make up, hair spray, and strong perfumes or body sprays. Do not bring anything flammable into the chamber, for example lighters, matches, or smoking products. If you have a cold, blocked sinuses, ear pain, or you feel unwell, let me know before your appointment.
What do I need to know after the session?
HBOT can speed up your metabolism, so hydration really matters. Please drink water after your session, because dehydration can sometimes lead to a headache. If anything feels unusual or you have a question later, just message me.
How many sessions do I need?
It depends on your goal and how your body responds. Some people notice small changes after the first session, for example better sleep, feeling calmer, less pain, or reduced swelling if it relates to an injury. After surgery, people often use HBOT as short term support for healing, sometimes across a few sessions. For longer term conditions, the body usually needs more time, but many clients still notice meaningful changes in how they feel and function after a handful of sessions. This is exactly what the consultation is for, we agree a simple starting plan so you feel clear from day one.
How often should I come?
It depends on your situation, but generally no less than once a week. Some goals need a more focused plan at the beginning, and we decide that together during your consultation.
I feel nervous, what if I am claustrophobic?
That is very common. You are never left alone. You can see me through the windows, and we stay in contact the whole time. We take it step by step, and if you feel it is not comfortable, we stop. You are always in control.
Who is HBOT not suitable for?
There are a few situations where HBOT is not recommended, for example untreated pneumothorax, certain lung conditions, some ear or sinus issues, pregnancy, colds or chest infections, and some chemotherapy drugs. If you are having chemotherapy, we will discuss the safest plan during your consultation, because treatment schedules are very individual and HBOT must be matched to your needs and your chemo cycle.
Can I go into the chamber with my child?
Yes, and for children a parent must go in with them. Children are never alone in the chamber. It makes a big difference to comfort, and most children adapt very quickly. There is space for two people, so you can sit together, read a book, and help your child feel safe.
Can two people go into the chamber together?
Yes, the chamber can be used by two people, for example a parent and child or a couple, but I need to be told in advance because it requires internal scheduling. Please book the first person as normal, then email, call, or text me so I can arrange the second person. You also need to feel comfortable being close to another person during the session, and each person uses their own oxygen mask.
What can I do during the session?
You can sleep, relax, listen to music, or read. I will guide you through the start, and then you can simply switch off.
Do you offer packages?
Yes. Packages are available for people who want consistency and a more structured plan. If you are not sure what to choose, do not worry, I will guide you during your consultation.
