Zinc in the form of picolinate and bound to carnosine

Zinc is definitely one of the most important trace elements in the body. It takes part in nearly 300 reactions occurring every day in the human body. However, it turns out that we often have too little of it for these reactions to take place efficiently, which may be the cause of many diseases and health disorders. No wonder we often hear the recommendation to supplement its deficiency. Of the trace elements, we only have more iron. The daily requirement for an adult is 10-15 mg, in pregnant women it increases to 20-25 mg. What is the role of zinc in the human body? First of all, it stabilizes DNA – to put it simply – the higher the intracellular zinc level, the lower the level of iron and other metals (because they compete for access to the carriers), the lower exposure to free radicals and the lower DNA damage, and thus the risk of cancer development.

It is a cofactor of almost 300 enzymes – without it, enzymes do not work – and an even larger number of proteins, e.g. pyruvate carboxylase, superoxide dismutase, alcohol dehydrogenase, aromatase, homocysteine decomposition, insulin and heme synthesis – hence it is necessary for the proper metabolism of proteins and genetic material, cell growth, division and functioning, energy supply and more.

Lysine hydrochloride

Lysine is classified as an exogenous amino acid, which means that humans cannot synthesize it on their own and it must be supplied to the body with food. It has the ability to attach water molecules. Unlike other amino acids, it is stored in the body. Increased demand for lysine occurs in the case of difficult-to-heal wounds, osteoporosis, herpes simplex virus infection, strict slimming or vegetarian diet and malnutrition.

Dosage:

Recommended Intake: 1 capsule a day after a meal. Drink plenty of water. Zinc taken on an empty stomach may cause nausea, so it is strictly recommended to take it after a large meal.
