Product overview

BestBiotic Junior has been designed for children and for parents who want to support the daily balance of the microbiome in a practical and thoughtful way. The formula is based on four selected probiotic strains and a convenient drop form that fits easily into a child’s daily routine. It can be given directly or mixed with water or milk.

What makes this product stand out is not only the strain selection, but also the technology behind it. The probiotic strains are protected with microencapsulation, which helps shield them from harsh stomach conditions and increases the chance that more live bacteria reach the intestines. The formula also includes a 50% probiotic overage, which is important in probiotic products because live bacterial counts can be affected by storage conditions, time, humidity and transport. This additional technological margin helps support the stability of the declared serving.

The carrier used in the formula is MCT oil from coconut. It is stable, neutral in taste and generally well tolerated, which matters in products intended for children. According to the manufacturer, the MCT oil used in BestBiotic Junior has also been tested for purity and heavy metals.

Who is BestBiotic Junior for

BestBiotic Junior is intended for children from the earliest years of life and for parents who want to build a conscious daily nutrition routine that includes microbiome support. It may be a suitable choice during times of change, such as starting nursery or preschool, during periods of digestive sensitivity, or after antibiotic use. It can also be included as part of a consistent and calm approach to supporting intestinal microbiota balance in growing children.

Why parents pay attention to the child microbiome

The first years of life are a key time for the development of the whole body, including the microbiome. This is often the stage when parents begin paying closer attention to how diet, daily habits and common childhood experiences may influence gut balance. It often becomes especially relevant during periods such as colic, the first nursery related infections, the first antibiotic treatment, or times when the digestive system seems more sensitive. These are natural parts of childhood, but they are also the moments when the microbiome becomes a more important topic in daily care.

What makes BestBiotic Junior different

In a probiotic for children, it is not only about which strains are included, but also whether they have a real chance of reaching where they are needed.

1. Microencapsulation technology

In BestBiotic Junior, each strain is coated with a protective lipid layer. This helps protect the bacteria against the acidic environment of the stomach and increases the chance that more live cells reach the intestines. In children’s products, this matters because not only the formula itself is important, but also the reliability of delivery.

2. 50% probiotic overage

In probiotic products, the number of live bacteria declared on the label is not just a decorative figure. It is a practical parameter. Probiotic strains are sensitive to time, temperature, humidity and transport conditions. A 50% probiotic overage means that the formula has been designed with an additional margin to help maintain a high real amount of live bacteria in the declared serving throughout the product’s shelf life and daily use.

3. High live bacteria count in the daily serving

The daily serving provides a clearly defined and substantial quantity of live probiotic cultures, so the parent knows exactly what is being given and in what amount.

4. Easy liquid form

The liquid form makes the product easier to administer and more flexible in daily use. This can be especially helpful when a child is very young or already tired because of infection, teething, routine changes or reduced appetite.

5. MCT coconut oil base

MCT oil from coconut is stable, neutral in taste and suitable for daily use in young children. Unlike many traditional carriers, it does not require unnecessary additives or emulsifiers. The manufacturer also states that the oil has been tested for purity and for the presence of heavy metals, which is especially important in products intended for children.

The BestProtect Junior dietary supplement includes:

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (ATCC 53103):

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG is one of the best known and most widely described probiotic strains in scientific literature. It has been present in published research for more than 40 years and is considered one of the most recognised strains used in modern probiotic formulations. In the context of the child microbiome, it is frequently discussed in relation to microbiological balance, digestive function and adaptation to changing environmental conditions. Its broad scientific background is one of the reasons it is so highly valued in children’s probiotic products.

Bifidobacterium animalis lactis BS01 (LMG P-21384):

Bifidobacterium animalis lactis BS01 belongs to the Bifidobacterium group, bacteria strongly associated with the microbiota of infants and young children. Strains from this group appear regularly in scientific literature related to the gut environment in early life. BS01 fits well into the concept of modern probiotic support for children because it reflects the natural dominance of bifidobacteria in the microbiome of younger children.

Bifidobacterium breve BR03 (DSM 16604):

Bifidobacterium breve BR03 is another strain associated with the child microbiome. In scientific literature, strains from the Bifidobacterium breve species are often discussed in relation to digestive comfort, daily bowel function and stool regularity. Its presence in BestBiotic Junior is not accidental, as it fits naturally into the needs of a developing child microbiome and into the physiological microbial profile of early life.

Bifidobacterium longum BL03 (DSM 16603):

Bifidobacterium longum BL03 belongs to a group of bacteria considered particularly relevant to the microbiota of children. Strains from this species are naturally linked with the early development of the microbiome and regularly appear in publications discussing gut diversity in children. In BestBiotic Junior, BL03 complements the profile of bacteria characteristic of the first years of life. In well designed probiotic formulas for children, the value lies not only in one popular strain, but also in the right combination of strains that create a more physiologically consistent formula.

BestBiotic Junior – safety

Free from:

According to the manufacturer, BestBiotic Junior is fully gluten free and may be suitable for people with coeliac disease or those avoiding gluten for other health reasons. The formula is described as free from unnecessary fillers, preservatives and artificial colours. Each batch is also said to be tested for gluten and lactose. The manufacturer further states that the product does not contain trace amounts of milk proteins and that all ingredients are plant based, food grade and free from allergens.

Important information about use

No specific tests are required before starting BestBiotic Junior. According to the manufacturer, probiotic preparations belong to the GRAS category, meaning they are generally recognised as safe. The manufacturer also states that the main limitation for use may be complaints associated with SIBO or IMO.

BestBiotic Junior may be used during antibiotic treatment, although the manufacturer recommends it especially after antibiotic use, ideally for a period of 3 to 6 months, in order to support microbiome rebuilding. After such a cycle, it may be used in a pulsed system, meaning 10 consecutive days of use followed by 20 days off, repeated as long as needed.

Additional information

BestBiotic Junior does not need to be refrigerated after opening, as long as it is stored in suitable conditions. The product should be kept at room temperature, in a dry place, away from direct sunlight, moisture and strong heat sources such as an oven, stove or fireplace.

No specific tests are required before starting supplementation. According to the manufacturer, probiotic preparations are generally recognised as safe. At the same time, the manufacturer notes that complaints associated with SIBO or IMO may be a limitation for use.

BestBiotic Junior may be used during antibiotic treatment. However, the manufacturer places particular emphasis on the period after antibiotics and suggests continuing supplementation for 3 to 6 months in order to support rebuilding of the microbiome after completed antibiotic therapy.

After a regular supplementation cycle, the product may also be used in a pulsed system. This means taking it for 10 consecutive days, followed by a 20 day break, and then repeating the same pattern as needed. This is presented by the manufacturer as an option after a longer continuous period of use.

According to the manufacturer, BestBiotic Junior does not contain trace amounts of milk proteins. The ingredients are described as plant based, food grade and allergen free. The product is also declared to be gluten free, and each batch is said to be tested for gluten and lactose.

Expert opinion

According to Jakub Mauricz (author of the recipe), in children up to 3 years of age the microbiota is still not very diverse, and Bifidobacteria should make up a large part of the intestinal bacterial population. He highlights that looking after the microbiome is one of the key elements influencing a child’s development and may be seen as a foundation for future physical and mental wellbeing. BestBiotic Junior was created with this early stage of life in mind.
