Do I need a consultation first?
Yes, it is required for all new clients. We talk through your symptoms, goals and lifestyle, you get a short trial, then I recommend the best package and schedule for you.
What does it feel like, is it painful?
It feels like strong muscle contractions. It should be intense but comfortable, and I adjust the level to you throughout the session.
Do I need to undress?
No. You stay fully clothed. Wear thin, stretchy clothing and avoid metal around the pelvis, like zips or buttons.
How many sessions do I need to feel a difference?
Most people need a minimum course to build momentum. In this clinic EMS Chair is sold as packages, minimum is 6 sessions, and the results depend a lot on consistency.
How often do I need to come?
For best results you commit to twice per week, so your body can build progress without losing momentum.
Can I do it during my period?
Yes, it can be done during menstruation, but the stimulation may feel more intense and, in some people, it can temporarily increase flow or discomfort, especially on heavier days. If your periods are usually uncomfortable, it is often better to schedule sessions outside the heaviest days for comfort and consistency.
Can I use the EMS Chair if I have an IUD or coil?
In many cases yes, but it depends on the type. Copper IUD contains metal and some manufacturers recommend extra caution; hormonal IUD usually contains no metal. We will confirm what you have during consultation and decide safely.
Can I combine this with pelvic floor exercises or physio?
Yes. EMS works best as part of a plan. If you already do exercises or physio, we can keep them and use EMS as structured support.
Are single sessions available?
No, therapy is sold as packages only. A top up session is available for maintenance after completing a package, please message or email me to arrange it.
Who should not do this therapy, contraindications?
EMS Chair therapy is not suitable if you have an implanted cardiac pacemaker, defibrillator or other electronic implant, a significant metal implant in the treatment area, a drug pump, a urinary catheter or other device in the urinary tract, epilepsy with active seizures, severe heart disease, severe kidney or liver failure, a bleeding disorder or haemorrhagic condition, you are on anticoagulation therapy, you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy, breastfeeding, you have a current fever or active infection, you have an active malignant tumour or pelvic cancer, or you’ve had recent pelvic floor surgery within the last 3 to 6 months. If you are unsure about anything on this list, message me before booking and I’ll help you check safely.
